I have the Genie excelerator ISD 990 1/2 hp model. When i close the door from the inside control it does up a ft. and stops, then another ft. stops and continues that, stops all of the time. Plus our remotes in the cars do not work at all, I lost the manual, any ideas would help, thanks,

As the weather gets colder the doors tend to have more problems. There are adjustment screws for upwards pressure and downwards pressure. You may have to adjust this one a pinch. The manual will give better description for this. Seems strange the computer lost the codes for the remotes. This usually means a bad logic board. There should be a button near the light bulb. You push that and get a blinking light then push your remote button light should stop blinking and stay on. Then push the remote button again and that will program the remote.
