any body using the eskimo brand auger ----comments--good -bad??

My buddy had one that we used on a trip last year and it started right away and cut through the ice with no problem. I am thinking about getting one after using it.

I used an eskimo power head last year with a strikemaster auger....It worked amazing...But it was one of the older auger heads and the plastic throttle handle broke during the extreme cold and constant bouncing in a sled.

I have an eskimo auger and I have no complaints. I would buy another one without thinking twice about. Starts easy, cuts great, I like it.

My father has had one for around 10 years, works great. Only problem is a varnish covering in the carb, but that is just improper storage technique. This past spring i got a darn near new one at the FM swap meat in Twig. it has not drilled a hole by me yet. Can't wait.

We have used these for the past 3 years at the Kiwanis Ice Contest on Fish Lake North of Duluth. We take them brand new out of the box and put the gas mix in them then get them started and run them hard for a hour or so. Out of the 30 or so we have used I can only think of 2 that didnt run right. Once we got them set right they ran fine.

They are a bit heavy but they cut well and a fairly priced auger.

I really dont think there is a poor auger being made right now. Jiffy, Strikemaster, Eskimo and Nils are all good augers.

I have had mine for 4 years now,runs like a champ! last year the plstic throttle handle broke(kinda cheap),but i replaced it with an aluminum handle from a bike brake,works top notch!!!

my dad has an eskimo and he has had it for about 5 years or so. deffinatly a good auger and have drilled quite a few holes with it. but i will agree its a little bit heavier-not a noticable problem though, but all in all a decent auger
