Ice Fishing tackle boxes?

So what do you guys use for tackle boxes to hold the ice jigs? I am sick of using the plano utility boxes because no matter how hard you try to keep things from travelling under the dividers into different compartments, they always seem to migrate. I have a little box with a snap cover lid that has a foam pad in it that I have snagged a bunch of jigs on that works great, but with the massive amount of tackle I have for ice fishing a 3" x 4" X 1/2" box is not nearly enough. I have a Plano 3700 utility box filled with all the other jigs and terminal tackle. Plus I spent about 50 bucks on new ice gear at the maplewood Gander at 1/2 off. Now I have a ton more gear and don't even want to put it in the plano box.

I am considering one of the Falcon boxes but I am curious to see if anyone here has one, maybe the crappie jig organizer box or the walleye jig organizer box? I would assume either would work equally as well for ice fishing depending on ones needs. If you have one, are they worth the 10 bucks? I guess the reason I like the looks of them is the fact that the compartments are not customizable, which means no more migrating jigs, beads, split shot, hooks, and whatever else likes to move. Are they also waterproof, I would imagine for 10 bucks they should be?

Something like this maybe... Terminal tackle organizer

Or this... Crappie jig organizer

Yup, utility boxes suck. The foam fly boxes are nice for small panfish jigs. I used both last year and this year I'm trying out the largest flambeau blue ribbon fly box. I've got one for open water crappie fishing and this thing is great.

Not sure on the size that your looking for but for just about all sizes plano has treated me well with thier jig boxes. you cant go with a cheapo when picking out jig boxes becuase like you said they will float around. so check out the plano brand boxes.

I like the looks of the Flambeu box Pulsar suggested, but just don't know if it will work exactly as I would like. I have a lot of jigging spoons and raps those probably wont fit in there. I also have a ton of micro jigs along with the assortment of fat boys, genz worms, flu-flus, ratsos, and a ton of plastic trailers. I guess I will just have to get one and try it out and report back with my comments on it. One thing I really like about the Falcon box is that it is just big enough that it will not fit down the holes I drill with my auger. I would hate to lose 500 bucks worth of jigs down the hole, doesn't need to float if it wont fit. The size of the crappie jig organizer is 12x9x1-5/8. Not a pocket box, but it will fit nice in the house.

The bug luggage sounds cool too, but I would fill that with just the jigs in the little 3x4 foam box I have, maybe 10% of the total arsenal. I will just keep the little foam box for those trips when I want to go light.

I've got a bunch of different tackle storage solutions that I use for different types of tackle.

If you are looking to store Jigging Spoons and Jigging Raps, Chubby Darters, etc, check out Today's Tackle Tackle Pouches. They make different sizes to fit lures with different sizes. You can then organize the Tackle Pouches neatly into your typical plastic Plano utility boxes.

For panfish type jigs, its hard to beat what Tyler posted. There are a number of different types of those boxes on the market- Fox Box, Bug Luggage, and the new Rose Creek box. Little Atom has the Bug Luggage and Thorne Bros has the new Rose Creek boxes.

This is the modern age of ice fishing, you can't get away with 1 Plano box for your ice fishing gear anymore, unless you want to destroy tackle, dull hooks, rub paint, and like to untangle jigging spoons. When you consider a jigging spoon costs about $4 now, you need to treat them like your open water cranks.

I use these a couple "Scientific Anglers" fly boxes. See this link for pictures.... http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Scientific_Anglers/Fly-Fishing/Products/FlyBoxes/

They work great, only problem is that the foam inserts get chewed up over a season. But I feel they are a great way to go, holds them all in place well and best yet, they float if dropped in the hole and they are see through so you can charge up your glow lures without taking them out of the box.
