riverbottoms
Are Glow Devils tied directly, or split rings or snap for best action?
Steve Foss
If I'm tying directly and don't want to sacrifice action, a palomar knot works well. If the lure comes with a split ring, I leave it on, but never add one or a snap. Especially in clear water, the more hardware the more likely a fish will shy away. Good luck. Dano2
would this apply to some of the otherssuch as the Genz worm and microw minnow?
Surface Tension
Bookum Dano, Thats right leave the Genx worm alone. No need for a spilt ring. If theres an eye for the line to tie to in most cases a split ring isnt needed. When theres a lure body with just a hole like a pimple for example then a split ring is needed. I like that, Bookum dano. Hawaii
Dano2
is the polemor knot necessary?what about just the old fashioned regular knot?Whats a pimple, would that be similiar to a rap.?
say_der
Why do you need a split ring on a pimple? I know they come with them and I leave them on, just curious as to why it can't be tied directly.Thanks.
Scenic
The Glow Devil Jigging Spoon comes with a split ring in the nose that is designed to be tied directly to your line. I do however use small “Fas Snaps” on my line if I am doing a lot of changing of colors. Good LuckJeff Scenic Tackle

Alphid
Dano2,A palmer knot is only really needed for the braided fishing line or no stretch. Since they have no stretch the knot will pull out if you are tying the normal fishing knot.(trilene, rapala, etc.)If I am not fishing with super line I will tie just a trilene knot.never had trouble with them.
