Propane Tanks

I'm getting kind of tired leasing a 500 gal propane tank from the local establishment and was wondering if any of you folks actually own your own and if so, how much do they run if a guy were to purchase one??

1996 I bought one for $600.00.Where I now live tank came with purchase of place.Its nice no tank rent and I can choose my supplier!

like a water softner here the past owners rented it for $20.00 a month for 20 years????? what were they thinkin whats that total bout 5 grand for a $400.00 item???

It used to run about $1 per gallon for a good used tank. Watch the papers, theres usually some for sale.

I put a 1000 gal underground tank in around 2002. Price 1500 well worth it. No looking at that ugly monstrosity, when the price is down, fill er up full.

I am replacing one in a couple of weeks. I was going to have them haul away the old one. I there a market for an old one? I would thing the regualator and pressure relief should be changed out and hydro tested.

See the purging post. I'd think that if you can find a large tank that you'd want the seller to make it totally functional.
