M 1 - Benelli Problem

Chapo

Recommended Posts

I recently acquired a used M1, the problem I am having is when I unload the round from the barrel by hand the next round coming up from the magazine only comes out about 3/4 of the way. I then am able with little effort get the magazine round to pop out. The gun has no problems with loading when the gun is fired. Any thoughts? Thanks?

Have you asked this question on the Benelli HSOforum forum? I'm sure the guys on that forum could tell you right away what to start looking for. I'm pretty new member on that forum and have read posts about every problem imaginable and those guys seem to know the answers. Not sure if I can post the link here or not but it's a pretty easy site to get started on.

I've got a nova that does that with reload 2 3/4 in shells. Its like it gets jammed going into the barrel. It never does it with store bought loads, you might want to try some different shells. For the money, I didn't think that benelli would be that finicky, but it is.

When you unload by hand you need to hit the red button by the trigger gaurd first. This drops the shell from the mag. You can then eject the shell from the chamber by hand. I think it works this way so you can eject the shell from the chamber and replace it with anothe load without a shell from the mag. dropping in.

Jerk bait is right, benelli has a trick to unloading it. It has a magazine shut off so, like he said, you can pop in a new load without sending them through the mag. I misread and thought you were having trouble while shooting, not unloading.

I believe that you can unload it without using the bolt. Turn your gun upside down and run your finger inside the reciever towards the magazine (I think it will be on the left side as you look down at the gun), if I am right, there should be a little tab that you push in and the shell will come out of the magazine. (The tab is just in front of the magazine, sometimes you have to push the shell in the magazine in a little farther to feel the tab, its right at the opening of the magazine)
