Agreed. It is a put and take lake. Get over it.

Read this post again, it tells you all you need to know.

What? the fish are PUT in there to be taken home and eaten----It doesn't matter if it is one hour after they are stocked or one year, thats how it works. Trying to be conservative with what you take is rediculous when 90% of the people that fish for trout out there ONLY fish the opener.....the pressure dies considerably after opener. Most people get their 5 or 10 fish a year which in the scheme of things isn't very much. These fish do not naturally live in lakes and cannot reproduce in lakes so whats the point of worrying when the fish in there are raised elswhere, trucked in, and released for the sole purpose of hitting a frying pan; all bought and paid for with trout stamp money.

put and take means what it says as long as you do not take more than your limit or go down there twice on opening day and double dip. that is what it is there for. And for it being a dead sea after opener it isn't normaly you just have to have learn the fish. you might not get your limit but you can catch fish most of the time. that is if there is oxegen for them to live . \:\(

You do understand the difference between a "put & take" lake & a stream, right? Also, you understand that that trout (of any variety) are unable to naturally reproduce in either Courthouse or Cenaiko, correct?

ok fine, I guess you dont bealive trout grow either. Ya gotta let a few grow up. But i guess I piad for a liscense so i can harvest a muskie every day as long as I eat it that night, Ya know thats what the dnr stocked em for. So much for all them years of catch and realease on the mn river eyes. I only fish 250 days a year so i guess i should start takin 6 eyes a night and eatin fish everyday man. I guess ill have to buy a stamp to cause i guess i got a hankerin for some trout.

Say what? Buy a stamp and go fishing. There are plent of nice, big, live trout still in Courthouse. After you find out how easy they are to catch you can let us know how many you released.

There is a lot of room on the ice, too. Wednesday there was only one person fishing.

Hi,

I am not sure how many acres it is. I am sure it is available on the DNR HSOforum.

It has been a tough bite. Between work and the artic blast I haven't made it out as much as I would like.

Ready to give it a try?

I really don't get this post at all.

First of all, should we all wait until you say it is OK to fish this lake? How will you let us know, personal letter or e-mail?

Yes you have every right to harvest and eat a "legal" muskie if you want to. And if you want to take your legal limit of walleyes and eat them every day that is also your right. Personally I would like to mix in a steak or hamborger once in a while, but you do what you want to do. And if someone else wants to eat trout once a year then so be it!

I think catch and release is great, I do a good deal of it myself but there is nothing wrong with legally harvesting fish or any other wild game. You have to remember where this sport originated from. it wasn't much of a sport back then when you were trying to feed your family.

Hey guy, ya gotta understand that these fish are not really going to grow in that lake. It's like fishing out of a bucket. The DNR puts the fish in there so that people can fish them out 2 weeks later (this year being the exception).

Camera on Courthouse:

Could one of you, with a camera, take it along to the Courthouse and see if the trout are still swimming? About 4 years ago they were all laying on the bottom...dead. Sure hope that doesn't happen again.
