Of course, just like everything else, these birds were quite shy. They were shot at 734mm and cropped just about 50%.

XT, I see you're trotting these images from your excursion out a few at a time to space out the enjoyment.

I like the second one best. The bent over cattails in the wind echo the motion of the bird on the wing.

I will have to agree with Steve that I like #2 better but both shots are very sharp considering the wind you had to deal with.

Thanks guys. Yes Steve, considering I only ended up with a handful of keepers after driving 1000 miles, I figured it best to spread them out a bit. This way it doesn't hurt quite so much. It makes the trip seem more worthwhile.
