Charles Daley Semi-Auto Shotguns?

Anybody have any experience with one of these? I heard that some owners are happy with them and they are priced under $500, any comments good or bad?

I have a 12 in the Charles Daly. It has been great for me. For a cheap gun, I don't think you can beat them. I used miner all fall last year, in the rain, or snow when it was darn cold, and it never missed a lick with 12 boxes of shells. CAJ

For $500 you should look into a used Browning or Remington. The Charles Daly semi autos have been widely panned due to jamming issues and broken parts. We had one in the store that went to six different banquets where someone won it and turned around and traded it back in without shooting it. We finally sold it and within one week it was returned due to constant jamming. I like the gun and the way it feels and points but it seems to be problematic.

To many problems look into a different brand. Jamming and double loading are just a couple of the problems. Something like the stoeger is a much better gun for the money.

I know a couple people that have them. The one has not had any problems but the other has had nothing but problems. The problems were anything from jamming to parts breaking and the ejector tab broke off twice. I would stay away from them if I was you. Another option is a few stores sell the composite stock Beretta AL390 for $450-$500. Very nice and very light weight gun and you will not have problems with it.

No problems with my son's 20 gauge. It cycles well, points great and patterns really nice. NO complaints.

For that price, I would look at the Beretta 3901s. Basically they are a 390, which is a time proven gun.

I bought one of those inexpensive Beretta AL390's in composite. I use it for duck hunting, and it is bomb proof I paid 400 for it new at Dick's If you can find one of those I'd say go for it.
