Even though I cannot stand the woman, I sometimes read her articles to see if she says anything new about my favorite radio morning show. ANyway, I thought you all might find what she said about ice fishing interesting:

It gets cold here. Some 20,000 lakes freeze, and a certain percentage of the population goes fishing. Get over it. Ice fishing is not all that interesting, although network bozos try to make it seem quaint.

It seems to me that she needs an education on how much revenue this fantastic sport brings into resorts throughout this great state. Needed to vent. Thank you.brings

That's fine. More ice for us. Of course, if you want to get her really interested just tell her ice fishing is one more excuse to drink beer, and that winter is not a reason to curl up on the couch but a bona fide recreational opportunity.

Putting a statement like that in a Minnesota paper just enforces the fact that "Everybody has an Opinion." Even gossip queens like her. She's got mail!.......T

The Minneapolis Star and "Sickle" is quite possibly the worst liberal rag I have ever read, most of the columnests are so far out of tune with rural Minnesota and all that makes this state so unique it makes me laugh. I honestly think these people believe the only things to do are to go to plays, opera, and wine tastings. How is that unique or culturally significant? Someone should drive a monster truck over their heads!!

I am also sickened. There is a writer, I believe with the Pioneer now named Terri Sutton. She used to be a music writer for city pages back in the days when I played music in the cities. After I moved up here to Ely, she did a 4 page article about her first woodcock hunt with my buddy Al up here. She was a veg and had never hunted in her life. The article was incredible and she enjoyed the hunt alot. Why more writers can't be open minded and expandable like her I just can't understand. This gal is a joke AND she's got mail!

What CJ does for fun is to live through other people. I believe that's very similar to the way a parisite makes it's living. Think Leach.

Wow!!
Went back to read that article you guys were talking about. She's completely embarrassed about being a Minnesotan and is pleading to everyone not to embarrass her (we may jeapordize her future!)
I lived in Los Angeles for 27 yrs. and worked as a touring musician (and been around the world with major recording artists, "living the high life") and when I moved here to live I realized what I was missing. This is where "real people live". No phony horse**** goes on here, it's all honest hard work and enjoyment. She's a disgrace. I hope she moves to New York and gets her *** kicked! Here's some of that article...

"C.J.: A network is coming; can we all
behave this time?

C.J./Star Tribune Published Dec. 6, 2002

Memo to NBC's "Today":
Thanks for letting Matt Lauer and Al Roker
accompany Mariah Carey for her live Mall of America performance Wednesday. Carey will want to cover up more than usual or risk catching a deadly chest cold. (Sorry e-mailers, Katie Couric is staying in NYC.)

Please, don't do another show featuring Minnesotans as a bunch of ice fishing,
lutefisk-eating rubes who begin every sentence with "Yah" and end with "Youbetcha."

That's old, tired, played, sorry, weak, lame.

It gets cold here. Some 20,000 lakes freeze, and a certain percentage of the population goes fishing. Get over it. Ice fishing is not all that interesting, although network bozos try to make it seem quaint.

If you can get a Hmong, Hispanic or Somali to say "Youbetcha," that might be worth airing.

We can live without another nationally televised morning show debate about which city is better, St. Paul or Minneapolis...

...If there is one thing even less appealing than ice fishing and cutesy mayoral debates, it's another yell-fest featuring Chris Matthews and his buddy James Janos...

...while national news shows have made Minnesotans look silly, it's only fair to point out that we've helped. Let's improve our image by restricting mall access (no tickets required, the show starts at 6 a.m.
and ear plugs would be a wise accessory) Wednesday to anybody who went to Stillwater for Diane Sawyer and Charlie Gibson when they did "Good Morning America." We looked way too hokey..."

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
