winter_grizz Posted September 11, 2007 Share Posted September 11, 2007 the other day i shot a canada goose and it was banded. ok so i am happy for a little while when i see that its a 2006 turkey band. what the heck is this all about. the goose was also not a normal canada. it had a white back with brown specs with a black neck and head with white little specs in it. any guess what it is cuz i got no clue?? fish4cats Posted September 12, 2007 Share Posted September 12, 2007 Sounds like you might have shot a goose from a brood of a Canada goose and a tame goose. We actually had a flock of about 6 of these bird come into the decoys one year during early season and did not shoot because we were unsure of what they were. Talked to a game warden later that day and he said that he had also seen those birds and wished we would have shot them. Swamp Scooter Posted September 17, 2007 Share Posted September 17, 2007 There is a chance that it was a Canada crossed with a White Fronted goose(Speckle belly) I have seen them before and the color has some similarities to a regualr Canada but some characteristic Spec pattern too.
