ikeslayer
i am just wondering if anyone has fished demontreville lately. I am heading out there on thursday and just wondering if the fishing is hot or cold or shallow or deep. Thanks. ike
Deitz Dittrich
I went out there a coupla weeks ago... fishing stunk... The lack of any real weed edge made deep fishing difficut.. and finding fish shallow wasnt easy either.. LOL
Craigums
there always seems to be a few fish hanging around off the point straight out from the launch. If fishing is slow resort to some shiners

cjac
Ike, It's been a couple years since I lived East metro, but I've done well in the fall on the East shore. there's the big point, and from there work south, along the place with the big white buildings, some retreat I think. Jig'n'pig worked down the edge. Echoing the point about the lack of cover, work the fallen trees, not a lot of them, but they held lots of fish for me. Group of guys did a little tourney on WBL Sunday, they had a tough day so a smaller lake may be a good option! Chris
rosspj59
I was out saturday panfishing with my daughter and saw a few bass/pike being caught shallow. We caught a 16"er on a jig/minnow year a sunken log. It appears most of the fish are shallow. Good thing you said thursday because there was a sign stating the launch was closed today and tomorow for repairs. There is a big pile of gravel at the end of the dock from powerloading. Ham
How was the fishing? What worked for you?
ikeslayer
First of all i would like to say thanks to the 2 guys that let me cut into there bassin time to give me jump. (once cause i left my lights on and second time cause i shut it off after 30 seconds of running after the first jump how STUPID) A sampling of the average fish for the day, i think the heron and the ducks in the back were a nice touch by God Well it was an interesting day on the water. We started out fishing the shore right next the landing at about 7:30. I was really wound up so i wanted to get some P&V out of me so i picked up the buzz bait. One of the other fellas in the boat thought that was a bone head decision and i wasn't expecting any results until about 3 casts in and i had a blow up, and then 2 casts more and a hook up. First fish 17" off to a good start but no demonstreville pig. Continued to throw the buzzbait with many blowups and a few hook ups. Seems like all the fish were around 17- 18&1/8 none bigger. As the sun got higher the buzzbait bite slowed and i thought i thought i could maybe catch some bigger ones by slowing down and working the coontail more methodically. Well after about 1 hour without even a nibble and many different kinds of subsurface vertical and horizontal presentations. back came out the buzzbait. it was a little slow but what it did was find them. We eventually found them for a while in the pads deep in there. Then when the sun finally came back out in the afternoon then there were hitting a shinney buzzer burned over the edges of where waves met weeds. Day was cut short as they all are by life getting in the way. Definitely a day of memories. Jumping the truck, 1 guy falling in, countless lures lost (some to stupidity some to teeth)1 dead trolling motor, not to mention the weather, Rain, cold sun, sunburn all in one day. Olson right now is the clearer lake of the 2 hands down If i had to go back to d-ville i would first of all bring a shovel cause the landing is nasty, secondly i would probably try a little harder at finding deep fish. good day buzzer got almost all of them, however i lost a nice one on fluke. good luck anybody else getting out there? i saw 4-5 other bass boats out there as i was leaving. fellowx
That's my all time favorite lake. It makes me feel like a better angler than I really am. Anytime I need a confidence booster, i head to Demontreville. What do you mean by the launch being nasty?
ikeslayer
well Fellowx if you haven't gone out there yet and found out it is nasty once you have the boat in the water. There is huge mound of rock about a boats length from shore making it very diffucult to get your boat over. i think it is from people power loading? Good luck if you are heading out there. Let us know how you do. ike
