As a first time bowhunter, don't set your goals too high as in 'it has to be an eight point or better'. Shoot a nice doe if she comes by, you need the practice drawing back without getting seen, fighting the adrenelin rush, shooting, and tracking a few deer, so when Mr. Big walks out some day you can calmly take your shot.

Last year was the 1st time for me. When you see a deer what a rush. Just being out there is so awsome. Then when one comes within shooting range WOW shocked.gif What a heart pounding experience. I shot a small 8 pointer. The deer went 10 feet and fell over. laugh.gif I was hooked from that point on. This year I'll probably have to track one.

Good luck.

I picked up bowhunting last fall. I love it....

Plus, I like the long season. You get to see so much out there in the woods. I did not arrow a deer last year, but learned a ton. I have a BioLogic food plot right this year, and the deer are hammering it now. I can't wait to get out to the stand.

Good luck all-

If you're like me as this week winds down it'll be changing the drool soaked shirt once a day, then twice, & so on until Saturday morning. Good luck!

My wife so far hasn't gotten too sick of me walking around the house with that far off look in my eye while exclaiming, It's fall...

6:51 AM sunrise and 7:25 PM sunset.

Go out to the DNR HSOforum and look at the regulations online, just print out the sunrise/sunset table. I keep a copy in my dayplanner. It will also show you the lines where you need to add or subtract 4 minutes according to where in MN you're hunting.
