Grubs in lawn

My Mom has grubs in her lawn. Does anyone know what should be used to kill the grubs. Is this something I can do myself, or should I have her hire a lawn sevice.

Others will chime in, but grub control spread is cheap and easy to find. Menards, or any other fix it your self store will have what you need. Follow directions and I am sure it will work out fine.

As for brands that work, I do not know. I have never had to deal with grubs yet?

I was wondering the same thing. I was just pulling up some crab grass and found some of the little buggers too. I might head to fleet farm, they've got stuff pretty cheap there for grubs.

Find something that is specifically marketed towards white grubs. They are tough to get rid of and the dosages are usually larger than a general lawn insecticide.

Granular Merit or Sevin is a very good choice. Any quality lawn and garden store can help you out. If you know exactly what you need then deals can be found elsewhere, but if you're gonna have any questions about it you're better off going to a garden store where there are people who can answer technical questions.

Its probably too late this year to make any kind of a dent in the grubs just because of the life cycle and where they are right now. Your best opportunity is to apply the insecticide in 2 applications next summer in June and July.

The product that works best for me is Dylox.

I've tried Merit, but had to go back to the Dylox.

What do you guys think of GRUB X? I've used, it but don't really know if it works.

I would hurry up and take care of the problem. My Mom had grub problems and skunks moved in and started eating them. The skunks would tear up the grass really bad looking for them.
