wdgold
Just found out over the phone that my son was accepted into St. Croix State Park for the youth hunt, can't wait. Anyone else found out yet. Supposedly the results of the lottery are on the HSOforum but couldn't find it.
Eye-lander
I recieved confirmation in the mail yesterday from the DNR. It's my daughter's first year hunting, so I am really pumped that she was able to get drawn. Probably more exited than she is.

wdgold
What do most of you do when hunting with your youth son or daughter? Do you use a 2-man deer stand or seperate stands, the reason I ask is this is my 1st youth hunt with my son and I have a 2 man deer stand but being you can't have ATV's in the state park it is going to be hard to have to lug that big thing around any distance. adaylate
Most of the parks have a nice trail system,so if you have a deer cart you might be able to cart it out.I've hunted with my daughter on high ground with a good view with success and I've also put 2 portable stands close together. DonBo
You may want to try a pop up ground blind. They are great for kids as they can move about a bit more without spooking game. You can also bring food, drinks and other things to keep them entertained during the slow times.
