Does it help with what is my question. Only thing about the floor to remember in my Clam 5600- take off your ice cleats before getting into it. I like not having carpet in it because its easier just to hose out when you need to clean it.

I have an Otter type fish house and I sometimes bring along a piece of plywood that I cut with holes properly spaced to fish in and it has carpet attached to it. I place on the ice after marking and drilling holes, it really makes life easier.

If the portable is not heated, it doesn't matter. If the portable is heated, the inside turns into an ice rink. I heat my portable, and found that putting ice rugs down a must. Ice_Fishing_2.jpg

[email protected]'s nice...maybe crop that out of the picture next time...good walleye bite when you're done I suppose.

I bought some Heavy Duty mats at a trucker's stop....pretty nice and don't slide around. Cover lots of space and cheap...might be a nice option for someone else, unless you are set on carpet.

What I did about 4 years ago was pick up these anti-fatigue rubber mats from Menards and put them under my feet. The perforations allow them to lock into the melting snow and they keep my feet from making direct contact with the ice. When they do hit the ice, they still have grip to keep from slipping.

A big 2 thumbs up on from me!!

Menards still sells them and they are very reasonable!

I had a piece of indoor outdoor carpet left over from a boat remodel and cut it wide enough for my feet and the length of the Vouyager. That way I can roll it up when I'm done and still have the holes without carpet around them. It really keeps your feet a lot warmer and drier and less icy. The carpet dries pretty fast also.

some time back my wife picked up some indoor outdoor carpet on clearance at Target it came in 3x6 size and fit into my clam nicely. It dried fast and made for less slipping and slidding on the plastic floor. Only used it on the half of the clam the heater wasnt on due to fire hazard.
