harvey lee
Being a jr fan but being realistic, he is done for the chase. Kurt is on a roll and I just dont believe that Jr is good enough to catch him. His last DNF put the last nail in the coffin.
Coach Dog
Stick a fork in him. That team just can't get it together. I wouldn't call it bad luck either. When he finally gets a good car as he had today, he screws it up by overshooting his pit stall.
harvey lee
Ya mean like Gordon the last two races. Everyone has bad races and problems every so often.
Coach Dog
Yeah, he hasn't done much the last couple of races at all. He screwed up last week and it sounds like he didn't have the car and should have backed off this week.
Coach Dog
By the way Harvey, that is one awesome buck on you avatar! Where did you get that brute?
harvey lee
Leonard,North dakota. 12pt with a Boone and Crockett score of 172.5 if I remember correctly. Shot in 2003.
HOF#13
I also hate to say it, but yea, I just don't think he can make up that many points in 3 races. Busch is on a roll right now. Anything can happen, but it would take quite a bit of bad luck on Busch's part for Jr. to make it.
LMITOUT
I gave up on Jr. a handful of races ago. Luck just wasn't on his side with all the mechanical failures he's been having. The sad thing is, is that he's been very competitive up until the failure in basically every race. Just think where he might be in the standings if not for all the DNF's. They've finally got the car handling good enough to compete for the front but the drivetrain couldn't keep up this year. I was hoping for a strong championship run, if not a championship, on his way out of DEI.....taking his trophy and walking out the door. Nascar has to be kicking themselves for their 100pt penalty mandate now that Jr. looks to be missing the Chase this year. Boy did that backfire. What a bunch of fools. First of all, Jr. is more than a 100 points behind Kurt Busch, secondly Kurt Busch also had a 100 point penalty, lastly, are you saying that they should run the sport based on ensuring Jr. makes the chase??? LMITOUT
No, they shouldn't formulate the rules so that the favorites make the race, but they know that he would be the biggest draw to the Chase....nobody cares about Kurt Busch, come on. They expanded it to 12 drivers not long after Gordo and Jr. missed the Chase and now it appears that Jr won't make it unless some big things happen in the next three races. Those "big things" could have been a lot smaller if not for NASCAR's wisdom of a minimum 100pt across-the-board COT penalties...especially for something that was absurd and didn't give them a competitve advantage anyway. I'm sure they're all saying, dang, why did we make that rule about the 100pt penalty...doh!. NASCAR is all about the cash now and they effectively just shot themselves in the foot with Jr. out of the show for the most part. Yes, Jr. has had a bad year with DNF's, but he's run well enough in the rest of the races that he finished to still be that close to making it. If he had any luck at all he could have very well been a contender in the Chase. Too bad he has to make up those 100 extra points to get there.
