pascooter94
would like to know if this system is any good our if there is a better system that is better, thanks
Deitz Dittrich
The X-Tools System is very good... I do think there is a more cost effective one on the market right now. I bought the Berkley scale, Which is hard for a dude sponsored by Mr.Twister. .LOL... Anyway, I got this Berkley system, it will remember and cull up to 8 fish, and is accurate to within 1/4 oz.. not 1/4lb, 1/4oz!!!!! I have put fish in my livewell, and re weighed them to only be spot on what it said before.. and have fished tournaments and had the tournament scale be off by about 2-3 oz for 5 fish. I'm a little disapointed in the battery life, but I may have bought one that was 1/2 gone on battery to begin with. The clips that go with it are also ones like the x-tool that does not dammage the fish. Cabela10
How much does this Berkley System cost and who has them? Ganders and Dick's?
Deitz Dittrich
Got mine at Gander Mtn, and I think it was like $35.. Which is about $70 les than the x-tools one.
st.crioxfishin
They were on sale at Gander for $24.99 last time I was there - about a week ago. They are a cool deal, I can vouch for Deitz. I might pick one up soon if they are still there.
Cabela10
So you are saying this Berkley System weighs ounces, like a fish weighs 1.25 but the x-tools one doesn't? or am I confused about what you wrote?
Deitz Dittrich
Bobby, they both weigh ounces I think... But the Berkly one I have says a fish is 3lb 2 1/4 oz.. I have not used the X-tools one to verify how it weighs.. it may way in 10th's of a pound or it may weigh in oz's? I think you were just confused by my writing, which isn't always the best at times.. LOL... I was meerly commenting on how accfurate I felt the Berkley one is. And that it measures fish to within 1/4oz. I am not connected to berkley in anyway... And I really can not vouch for the X-tools system as I have never had the chance to use it.
ikeslayer
while on the topic of scales what does everyone think of rapala digital scales? ike
st.crioxfishin
I currently have the rapala one. I like it and use it for culling during tournaments, I just thought the features on the berkley one was really cool and made it easier to cull when it stores the weights itself instead of having to write them down. Cabela10
I bought the Berkley Culling System today and I would like to let you all know, it's still on sale for $24.99 from the original price of $39.99 I found them in the clearance bins in the middle of the aisles, not on the rack by all the other Berkley scales and such. I played with the scale for awhile once I got back home to figure out how to use it for this weekend, thing seems awesome and I'm glad I bought it, especially for this price. JP Z
I have the X-tools unit and I love it. It won the one tourney I used it on I believe as I won by 2 oz. Haven't used it for a while so I can't say if it is 1/4 oz or what that it weighs up to.........I think .xx oz though.
