going into the season, the starting pitching was the big question mark, loosing radke and lirano.

this team may have to look at there hitting coach.

Here is the bio of their hitting coach from wikipedia

Joseph Alan Vavra (b. November 16, 1959 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin) is a Major League Baseball hitting coach for the Minnesota Twins.

Vavra was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1982 amateur player draft out of the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He played five years in the Dodger farm system making it to the AAA level in 1986. He failed to make it to the major leagues

Vavra coached in the Dodger's minor league system for ten years before becoming the permanent bunting and baserunning coach.[1]

Where is Paul Molitor?? Rod Carew??? Why cant one of these guys become our hitting coach??

I'm not sure if Vavra is really the problem. The Twins were hitting pretty good last year with Vavra. Maybe a change would be good, but it just seems like whenever a team starts to struggle, everyone cries for a coach/manager's head when really its just that the players have their heads in their butts. How many times has Kansas City brought in new coaches and managers in the past few years without much success? They are doing better this year, but Bell has already said he's leaving at the end of the season!

I'm not trying to say if Vavra should stay or go, I'm saying I think everyone should be accountable for our lackluster offense.

I see Mr. excuse man (AKA Tori Hunter) continues to blame their lack of production on good pitching after another effortless series against Anaheim. Let's see.. 123 hits for $12 million. Thats $100K per hit. What a joke.

KCs major problem was Allard Baird. Tony Pena did one heckuva job his first season there, and I couldn't fathom what he woulda done with Dye and Damon and Beltran (what an outfield KC had!!!) amongst their other players- Rookie Of the Year Angel Berroa and Sweeney that Tony Muser couldn't do. I would be willing to bet he woulda won the central if he would have came in 2-4 years earlier

Remember the movie, "Major League"? Everytime Willy Mays Hays hits a ball up in the air he has to do pushups on the field. I think we can cure Punto.

Also, there is a reason why great baseball players don't coach that much. They were great, many times they didn't know how they did it they just did. That's why many of the great coaches were career minor leaguers that may have had a cup of coffee with the big club.

Tommy Lasorda

Sparky Anderson

Jim Leeland

Guys like Ted Williams, Frank Robinson have trouble understanding why a guy doesn't get it when they tell them how to do something. They can't usually break it down enough for most guys to understand.

Exception:

Billy Martin
