ocf1
CB yes, and they may be dropping the 360 price due to longevity reasons.
zamboni
I had a 360 and an original Xbox. My 360 wouldn't play my old Xbox games, so I sold it. I bought a Wii and don't regret it a bit- alot more fun to play and well, saving alot of money is always good- Wii games are $10 cheaper than Xbox 360 and PS3 games, and don't get me started on the console prices (PS3 owners, you're crazy-$700, thats ridiculous)
Meaney
just get a 360, you will love it more
Bigbartguy
my vote is for the Xbox 360 as well, rather than the original Xbox. They'll probably be making fewer new games for the original and eventually just stop all together. halo 3, halo 3, halo 3 is coming.
LMITOUT
I thought if you got the 360 Console and not the "Core" you could play the original Xbox games?
Central Bassman
man i just might have to get one!!! Isn't there different 360?? What one should i get??
Kyle Sandberg
For the 360, you have the core unit for 300$ and the "advance" for 400$. Basically (as far as I can tell) the only difference isn't much. Instead, if you have X Box the original games, buy the cheaper model, get the the 100$ hard drive that allows you to play the old games and gives you memory. Also, if you have an HD TV, get the HD cords. IT IS AWESOME.
zamboni
The 400 dollar unit comes with a wireless remote, while the 300 dollar unit has a wired controller

Central Bassman
Is that at all store or just best buy or what??
LMITOUT
All stores have to sell at the manufacturer's dictated price, so yes, all stores. I also found a page on the Xbox HSOforum that has a list of the original Xbox games that are compatible with the 360. I noticed that there are some on there that I have that are not. Oh well, if I ever jump into a 360 it'll be time to get a new Madden anyway. The only thing that concerns me is the problems they've had with them. Kinda scary when on the front page of the 360 HSOforum they have a fairly large link/picture about returns. Being a VERY casual gamer, even with the extended warranty I don't know if I'd play it enough to push it to failure. I'm sure if it happens it'll be right after the extended warranty is up.
