Caleb
Ok guys, looking to for your 5 lures that are a must in your daily arsenal. Can't seem to stop buying (addiction) lures and taking a whole box or 2 full is getting heavy. What are your recommendations for 5 lures that you could move fish on any lake?5 lures that WORK for me:1. Sucker Giant Jackpot2. Black/red blade Inhaler Tandem3. 9" Perch Suick4. Black LOWrider Mag5. Bleedin sucker Phantom soft tail 7.5"
AWH
I don't think I could ever narrow it down to just 5. But if you go to Mille Lacs and look at what the other boats are throwing there are only TWO must have lures. Double Cowgirls and Magnum Bulldawgs. But I need to have my 10" Jakes and top water baits such as a Top Raider, Top Walker or Pacemaker. Then throw in a spinnerbait like a Rad Dog. With those 5 completely different style baits I can be pretty versatile and fish in any condition I'm faced with. Aaron
Questor
I really like white 3/4 ounce spinnerbaits. It's Monday after work and I'm too exhausted to think of the other four right now.
Dkoy
Thats the exact reason why I believe not to throw them. Almost every other boat I cruise by or follow behind is either throwing a double cow or mag. I opt to use a different presentation. Other than when I have not competition is when I throw the double cows or if I hit an area that I know has not been pounded every inch with 2 double cows zippin. RK
Hiya - Heheh...Aaron has trouble getting down to 5. I have trouble getting UP to 5...My list would be:1. Single spin spinnerbaits. Most versatile muskie lure there is. I could probably stop right here...2. 10" Believer. Almost as versatile as the spinnerbait. Cast, troll, whatever. Amazingly good in weeds. When fish hit these, they're trying to kill them. 3. Suick. Fish just eat the things4. Bait Rigs Esox Cobra Jig - Even after getting some press the last few years, jigs are still the most under-fished muskie lure there is...5. Mouldy's Topper Stopper. A topwater everyone ignores, but still the one I use most. Have one that's caught probably 50 muskies now...getting close to retirement. Can use them from flat calm to 4' waves and they still get eaten. Cheers,Rob Kimm
CanOCorn
So I am new to muskie fishing and I'm trying to gear up for a trip to Souix Lookout, Ontario (Lac Suel) for walleye, pike and muskie. The guys I am going with have gone for years and have there standard bucktails with them. I am looking to get some different lures and I see a lot of great ideas on here but where are you getting them? Gander and Fleet don't have Double Cowgirl bucktails. I didn't even check the other brands yet. One more question, there are about 10 different brand names of bucktails. Which is the best. Any help is much appreciated. I leave in 8 days so the sooner the better in case I have to order online. Thanks in advance!!Here is my email if you want to shoot me a store name or online store that isn't a sponsor of fm. jxande8 at hotmail.com

Rebel9921
Yes... Gander Mountain in Lakeville do sell double cowgirl but its pricey...almost $9 more than MTO, and almost $6 more than TB... What I would do is send you to Aaron of Muskie Tackle Online... He got great stuff and at excellent pricing... Hes a good guy to work with!!! Basically... there are many bucktails that does good... Such as Llungen's DC-10, DC-8, Reefer, Tales, ... Musky Mayhem's Double Cowgirl, Showgirls, Eagle Tail, Siligirl, Supergirl... Mojo's XX, XXX... Just basically have to go for those that do catch your eye and your confidence in using them... I sent you an email... Good luck!

bonelach
couldn't agree more with DKoy. It seems like everywhere you go, its a couple of magnum bulldogs getting ripped through the water in a ridiculously aggressive manner. more power to you if you're actually boating muskies with that technique, but it seems like guys are doing it more and more because it's the trendy thing to do. For myself, and the water I like to fish, it's pretty basic, but all in the presentation. 1) #5 tandem musky killer 2) suick3) top raider4) jake5) hogwabbler

Grant Pearson
no confidence in the dbl cowgirl? Obviously someone didn't get the memo that over 225 muskies over 50" were caught on it last year. If that doesn't inspire confidence,I don't know what would.
MuskyBrian
In one week on Eagle Lake in my boat 3 50" fish were caught, 1 49" and 1 48" on a double cowgirl....that's one week....needless to say, I have a "little" confidence in it...by little I mean I throw it 80%of the time now

AWH
If the best Double Cowgirl color is based on how many sell, the best seller has been the Rainbow/Nickel. Not too far behind has been the Black-Chartreuse/Chartreuse, Blue-Silver/Nickel, Black-Red/Red and of course, Black/Nickel. But my personal favorite is Black-Chartreuse with Nickel blades.Aaron
Rebel9921
I have the black/black nickel one... but definitely will be purchasing few more... especially the black-chart/chart and black-chart/nickel... I feel very confident with any lures as long it is black or has black in it...
