What am I missing???

I found this deal while browsing for a DSLR. I as planning on a D50 but when I found this deal I thought the D80 would be the best deal considering Ritz sells the body alone for $999.00

Be very careful when buying photo gear on line. Go to Resellerratings with a period and a com. You will find store ratings at the top left, click on that and scroll down just a bit to find that store.

I don't think it would be a wise decision to use that retailer.

Usually those deals that look too good to be true are too good to be true. Most often, you'll get the camera body alone, with no battery, battery charger, cables or any of the things you need to operate it, and then you have to buy them separately. And then you're spending as much as or more than you would have anyway.

I found that out as well after doing some research. I found my camera for $500 when everyone else was 899. after doing a google search on the webadress it came up as bad bad news. So I went somewere else, bought from a reputable company that does not particually advertise on line and have been more than happy.

Thanks everyone for the info. I checked out the HSOforum you mentioned and it was loaded with pages of terrible reviews from this retailer. I'm not going down that road.
