Princeton Tec Light

Brighter than a Vortec??? I don't know. I do know the Princeton tec is very bright and light at 2.6 ozs.

Shipping costs, it varies depending on how many items you order. When you get to checkout it will show you. Very reasonable...typically we lose money on orders with multiple items or lose a little less on single item orders. Probably cost the standard Post Office fee if you ordered it alone.

I think the light is much better firing up your glow jigs. I compared it to the regular led light I had used before, and the Tec does a better job.

Used it all through deer hunting and dressing out my deer. Still haven't changed the batteries. I think this light is great.

Thanks Woodguy
Sounds like the Vortec is heavier and doesn't last as long.

It may be brighter, but it's hard to believe that it would be.

The Princeton Tec Aurora is plenty bright and obviously lighter with up to 160 hours of use before you need to put in 3 new AAA batteries.

From reading some of these posts and using one myself I can tell this is going to be standard ice fishing and night fishing gear.I love the fact that I have my hands free to do what I need and don't have to move a lantern or stick a flashlight in my mouth to do something. Its just makes things so much easier!

Yeah, but just watch out when you're talking to other folks on the ice while your light is on. We tend to look right at who we're talking to, and once you get an eyeful of those three little blue lights, you'll be seeing lights dance for the next couple minutes.

So be careful where you're looking out there when you're talking out there. grin.gif

I blew it! I saw these at Cabela's about 2 wks. ago for the same price as here, but they also included a little keychain LED light with it. Not that I didn't wanna support FM, but I shoulda bought one. I guess the early worm gets the fish! But...I still want one, so FM's gonna get an order from me.

My turn to chime in on the Princton Tecs. Went out to a local lake to see if there was a night time crappie bite. Left the &$#% lantern at home cuz' I have already broken a globe, and that was in the garage. No worries though, I had my new headlamp. Worked great, very light, other than being able to see what I looked at, I barely knew that I was wearing it. I did have to take of my Fishing MN hat, the bill cast a shadow that was freaking me out. So I may replace the globe on the lantern, in case there are two people in the house. When I am fishing solo, the lantern can sit in the garage waiting for the next broken globe. A great product, I am sure that heavily fished lakes, i.e. URL will look quite interesting with a gang of anglers with these on. Thanks Rick, oh yeah, got them in two days from this site and had to test it in a dark closet. Caught no fish in the closet, and none on the lake either.

Every time I use this liitle gem I can't believe how I managed to get along without it.I have been using headlamps for some time and have used some high quality ones.I used to use the "Predator Pro" and thought it was the brightest one on the market.I fished along side a guy wearing one last week and the Aurora out shined it.Not to mention that I would have changed batteries several time in the Predator Pro.Tonite I fished with Rick and with the two Auroras on you could see every thing in the shak.I also did the glow devil test against my little lazer light.Aurora came out on top here too.It seems to be the same frequency of light wave but is much brighter and glows up the jigs much faster and lasted longer.

My wife just purchased a PTA for me. I don't know how I ever got along without this thing. I will never ever bring my lantern on the lake again. I have two boys that like to go fishing with me, I suppose I had better get my check book out and purchase two more before mine turns up missing. I kept telling the wife about all of the good reviews about this light. I do not like to purchase anything unless I research it some. Thanks to the guys on this site this was not neccesary, thanks guys.

My wife and I celebrated Christmas together this afternoon, and one of the things that she got me was the PTA. I turned it on for the first time with it facing me, and I swear that I saw a triangle of blue lights for a half hour. I can't wait to try it on the ice. I think that it will also be fantastic for picking crawlers in the summer, and gutting dear, and working on the car, and...

Thanks Guys!

Wables you are going to love your headlight. Like everyone is saying, no need to dink around with propane, mantles, and etc.
Just wrap that thing around your head, push the little black button and waa la! Depending on your house, but I use it on the low setting for my fishtrap pro and it is plenty bright.
If you were without sight for 1/2 hour after directly looking at it, you wonder what those fish think after pulling them through the ice and staring at you while you pull the hook out of their mouth smile.gif
ENJOY!

I gave PTA's to 4 people for Christmas gifts. Rave reviews from all 4. I absolutely love leaving the lantern at home. You don't have to stand around for 10 minutes at the end of the trip waiting for the PTA to cool down either (which is nice).

I recieved a Aurora Tec headlamp for Christmas and pretty much considered it a neat little novelty item...not an integral part of my fishing gear.Boy,was I wrong! It is all people are saying about it and more.I don't even need my glasses to tie knots or bait hooks anymore. This thing will sell on it's own merits anyway and there will always be those who look a gift horse in the mouth. Mike

This little thing came in handy for something other than fishing tonite. My daughters car broke down and she parks on the street out side of her apartment.I was fumbling with wrenches and trying to get the job done by the street lamp but couldn't see a darn thing but then remembered that my Aurora was sitting on my dash board.I put the thing on and could see every thing under the hood.It took no time to get the car going after I put the light on.By the way it was freaking cold working on that car tonite!Daddy was ALMOST thinking of giveing her a loan for a new car!
