rippinlips
which do you guys normally use.
JP Z
I prefer my MAV, which is the Motorized Aqua-Vu which is a permanently mounted unit where the up and down is controlled via a foot-control. Hands free viewing at it's best.
bassNspear
Thats pretty sweet. I have been trying to use mine, but always have to use my hand and knee down to look at it. I have a marcum.
Deitz Dittrich
I dont have the moolah for a MAV yet.. some day! Untill then, I just sit on my deck with the moniter in my lap and my hand on the cable.
rippinlips
Deitz that's what I do now but somtimes it would be nice to hold in one direction without the camera moving like those times your cruizing with the trolling motor and you there was a fish now where did it go. If a guy could mount it to a telescoping rod and then you could control which direction your looking and not the current.
st.crioxfishin
I also just hold mine with my hand over the side of the boat. I need to start using mine more than I do right now.

Bullwinkle
Quote: I just sit on my deck with the moniter in my lap and my hand on the cable. Next time I look over and see you sitting there with a big smile on your face I guess I'll just assume that you have your hand on your cable. Is that what you call it these days? TNFL
I've owned a aqua-vu for 2 seasons now and rarely use it. It seems so dang hard if there is any wind. trying to control the trolling motor, hand on the cable, face buried in the visor.Any tips?
JP Z
It helps if you can have the sun at your face rather than back. As then you don't need to be as tucked into the sunshield.
Ranckenstuff
I incorporated a rod rack to put the cord thru when using on the boat. Helps alot! A black shirt that blocks the sun over your head works swell also.
JP Z
the 2 new units this year MAV, and 7" DT have an LCD screen with around 1200nit backlight so you can see them in very bright sunlight. But of course that doesn't help for your current unit........black shirt it is.
