POUNDERS??

I picked up a Bulldog Pounder today and trolled it for about 2 hours tonight, no dice but it does look really good in the water. how are you guys fishing them trolling, casting, jigging? Jonah

Cast 'em!!

With the right rod you can cast Pounders all day. Great bait on big fish water or where big forage is present.

I would start with a 8 ft 2X4. You'll never see me casting one of those spare tires of a lure. Trolling sure but not casting. More power to the guys that can and do but I have enough lures that I have enough confidence in not to put myself through that misery.

I had Keith Terlinden build me a 9 footer on a St Croix XXXH blank. It's a heavy rod, but it handles those big baits with ease.

I've never tried the Bulldawg rods.

I like to troll and cast them. I use an 8'9" Avid. Works well with a 7000cl for cranking it to the boat.

I picked up a 8'6" bulldog rod and i love it. I can cast all the big bulldogs down to double cowgirls. I put a record 61 on it with the power handle and its the best rod/reel combo ive ever had. I think it XXX heavy rod!!!
