Flathead Study

I think it was posted before about a study by a Volken..... on flathead movements in rivers. I think Dtro may have been the culprit who posted it? I can't find the link and want to read the study. If someone can help me find it, I would be appreciative.

Thanks,

Brent

I've got the entire dissertation (all 186 pages) in PDF format if you are interested. Shoot me an e-mail.

The title of it is "Movement and Habitat Use of Flathead Catfish (Pylodictis olivaris) In Two Missouri Interior Streams" by Jason C. Vokoun

Hanson could I also get the PDF Thanks in advance!

Heres an old report from DNR

Thanks for that link. I think I remember reading that one a while back, but it was nice to read it again. Couple of eyebrow raising facts.

I like this one best:

Stauffer adds, however, that angling pressure downstream near New Ulm and Mankato could

be cropping off the big cats in that stretch.

Thanks alot guys tongue.gif

Thanks dtro, I soon hope to have a recent flat report from the DNR on the GraniteFalls area. They had bright yellow plastic posters on each access along the river Stating they taged flats and if caught they wanted tags back with info.Signs been there 3 yrs. now. Did they do the same downstream? I never got a taged fish.

I agree and people should stop fishing this stretch! Everyone should go fish up near the cities. smirk.gif
