Fishing vs. Death

Would life be worth living without fishing or some other diversion like it? How could we rationalize our existence without fun?

Actually I am married, and have been married so long that I have well developed senses of doing what I want anyway despite criticism, selective hearing, and squirreling away money for my own pet projects. I also have an acquired ability to talk about things that I don't want to talk about or hear about, and that's what keeps our marriage strong.

I think fishing is instinctive like hunting/gathering. Life would not be possible without sustainance so you would be doing that in one form or another if you are alive.
