Guest
I was reading Midwest Outdoors last night and saw an ad for the Angel Eyes, but it appeared that it was advertised as "JB Lures" as the manufacturer! Here it is still Scenic Tackle. Jeff, what's up with that? Hope you're still making them because you do a fine job!
Scenic
CDJB Lures and Scenic Tackle have teamed up on this product. JB Lures has this product available in individual packaging as requested by some of the larger stores. Because I am not set up yet to do blister packing because of room restraints we teamed up on this product to accommodate them. Yes they are the same spoons and yes they have the same quality paint finish and hooks on them. I knew sooner or later I would be asked about that on this form. This move has caused quite a stir in the industry. (Two manufactures sharing a trade mark product). This is not something that is often done but I am very comfortable working with JB Lures on this product. They are a very well known company who also has other quality products. Scenic
I sure hope I have more time to fish this year but we'll see. You putting your house up here again this year? Maybe I would even have time to actually use it this year.Jeff
Guest
Sorry, no house on Bemidji this year, only portables. I have since moved away from the lakeless, land of the ancient mud flats of Lake Agassiz (Moorhead) to Battle Lake area. I took the permanent house with me. I now live across the street from a West Battle, so the old shack is going on there for the winter. I'll let you know when I'm in town, maybe we could get on the hot bite again, oh wait, you missed the hot bite by one day last year! We'll try again. Hemlock
Someone mentioned way back when that these AE's are good for lakers...can anyone tell me if they sell these in any bigger sizes? Will the regular AE's be heavy enough to take 10-17# line down? Curious to know presentations for lakers.------------------Hemlock"Throw'm back"
Guest
The original angel eyes will take a heavy line down no problem. I would think 17# is pushing it though. You talk to jeff. He's always open to new ideas. But I don't think you'd want them much bigger
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted November 22, 2002 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted November 22, 2002 Hi Jeff,Ewewitness is asking for weights on the Angel Eyes. I recall this question being asked before. Can you put it here for all to read. Thanks Jeff
Scenic
Sorry for the delay. Hard to paint and type you know??? I have had a lot of people using the Angel Eye Minnow for Lake trout. Personally I have not used them for lakers myself yet. The reports that I have had back from the fisherman has been really good. They have indicated that you have to watch your line very careful on the drop. These spoons drop to the side of your holes. The Lake Trout like walleye will hit the spoon on the fall. You will often times not feel the bite but just the slack in the line. I know they were using #17 Trilene XT and did not report any problems with line. They also claimed that they replaced the some of treble hooks with ones that they tied hair on to. Another group used large rubber tails on them but did comment that this caused the spoon to drop a little more straight down. They did say it caught fish.If anyone else has used these for lakers please fill us in on this. Some day I hope to get out and fish some lakers myself. Let us know.JeffScenic Tackle

IceNutt
Greetings from Colorado! After reading all the "glowing" reports on the Angels and Devils, I ordered a card of each. I don't recall any posts on charging these guys before sending them down. We fish high mountain clear lakes. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks------------------IceNut
Guest
I recommend a camera flash. You get a high intensity charge quickly and one POP will do the job well. Most camera flash's suitable for this run about $20 at Wall-Mart. I prefer rechargeable batteries for longevity and convenience, plus they are environmentally friendly.Northland tackle has a LED style light that is suitable for crappie sized jigs and is a very compact option. ------------------Backwater Eddy..><sUMo>Backwater Guiding"Ed on the RED"(701)-281-2300[email protected] http://ed-carlson.fishingbuddy.com

Scenic
IceNuttJust a small tazer light works good on thse spoons. Give them a quick charge and the let them go. You can also use the tazer lights to put stripes and or dots on you lures too. Just hold it right against the product and draw your lines or dots.Jeff

I already have a card's worth or glow devils if that makes a difference. Thanks
