61"er out of Big Detroit???

I just heard about the picture from some reliable sources. All I know is that the person who saw the picture didn't question the size, so that tells me that it is possibly true. The rumor has some basis, but I too am skeptical.

I clarify, I saw a picture of a 60 inch fish from Cass. It was from some resort. Do I know FOR SURE it was 60? No, but I have no doubts it was very close after seeing the picture. It was a very sickly looking fish though, extremely skinny.

This has to be true because I heard it first hand from a guy at a local (Fargo) sporting goods store who was trying to sell me a bunch of musky stuff. According to this guy it was not uncommon for 50+ even 60" musky's to be caught every year out of Big Detroit. In fact one of these giants had a few years ago jumped out of the water boatside, grabbed the end of his rod that was hanging over the edge of the boat and disappeared forever. I quote "Man that thing had to be a 60" no doubt". I procced to ask him how far into the case of miller lite he was. I thought that was funny he was not as amused. Oh well guess I will have to purchase my tackle at another outlet.

I dont believe it though. If the lake was first stocked in 89. I have a cabin on Pelican and they started in 83. Maybe the big D started then too.
