2001 40 hp 4 stroke

Might buy this evinrude, it is a 3 cylinder only 50 hrs. on it or so. Anyone have any thoughts if it is a good motor for a pontoon? What is it worth? Thanks.

I just bought a used 2001 40hp 4 stroke w/ trim and tilt for $2100.00. It is in decent shape... couple scuffs on the cowling and hood, but no biggie.

Thanks for the reply, this one is in like new condition and the seller wants a little more than the book on it. Anyone else familiar with the motor? Are the 3 cylinders reliable, I had a 1991 that was tough to start.

I have a three cylnder 90 horse 2 stroke and she starts up just fine. Make shure you start the motor and see how it runs for yourself.

That motor is a Suzuki with Evinrude paint. Supposed to be good.
