fuse size?

have a 55lb minnkota power drive.can anyone tell me what size fuse i should be using? cant find the dang manual. blown two fuses last two trips, thinking i may have bought the wrong ones or something. round glass ones. thanks guys

I have a Minnkota Power Drive 12v 55pd/ap/us2 and it takes a 50 amp minimum fuse.

Maximum draw on a Minnkota 55 is 50 amps. Get youself a manual reset 50 amp circuit breaker for around $10.00 and you should be set.

If you are not connecting the motor directly to the battery, be sure that the wires you use from the battery to your connection point are sized adequately for 50A load. Hate to hear about a fire in your boat.

Remove that round glass fuse from your line from the battery to the trolling motor. Replace it with a manual reset 50amp circuit breaker at the post. Do not get the automatic reset circuit breaker because you will not know when it resets itself, where as with the manual reset, you have full control over it.

found one at cabel...as for 39.99. where can you get one for $10?

You can't find one for $10, I think that $20-$30 is the right price for a 50amp manual reset circuit breaker at the post.

Any boat dealership that carries Rigrite boat accessories should have the manual 50 amp in-line circuit breakers for around $10.oo If you can't find them, shoot me an email. I have a pile of them in my rigging bags.
