hoggs222
I have a 2001 Jeep Gr. Cherokee Laredo, 4.7, 4WD. I cannot get the front rotors off. We've tried to heat them up, beat the snot out of them, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks,Hoggs
0 tashit
I've read to spray some penetrating oil (PB Blaster, Kroil) and let it sit for a while. WJJeeps and JeepsUnlimited are priceless resources for us Jeep owners.
0 Macgyver55
Some rotors have two threaded holes in the flange area that you thread bolts into to pop them loose. I don't believe that the Jeep will have them but its worth a look. Otherwise, the BFH is your best bet! I've only run into a few in my career that had to literally be destroyed to get them off. I live near Bunker and Hanson if you need a hand!
0 VMS
I have had this issue as well. It took a while, but heating and pounding simultaneously near the bolts was the ticket. You know your close when you start to see clouds of rust around the bolts themselves. They will come...take your time and don't destroy the rotors if they are able to be ground for another round...Steve
0 hoggs222
We got them off with a bigger BFH! The rotors were shot, so they got the business!
0 theoilman
When you go back together you might try a very light smear of waterproof grease to keep the new ones from seizing the same way.
