Joe,

I can't live without one on my bow. You can't beat it to tell what kind of bottom you're fishing, instantaneously know if suspended fish are under you and in calm conditions, jig like you would during hardwater. Its a no brainer! Go for it!

I just took my Vex of the front of my boat and moved my lowrance to the front and I think I'm regreting it. I have so much confidence in my vex and when I find fish I can litterly vertical fish and see how fish are reacting to my jig/minnow better than any liquid crystal unit. YES PUT YOUR VEXILAR ON YOUR BOAT!!!! You will not regret it.

Later.

When I bought my boat, it had a paper graph and an FL-8. I used both at the same time so I could learn what I was looking at on the flasher. Never went back. An LCD can never match the instant reading of a flasher. You'll love it.
