Post it......vertical holds are ok if done quickly, the horizontal on a fish that big can do damage as well.

41"er from LOTW caught about an hour after my nephew got to haul in this 42" fatty !

He couldn't talk for a while after that one.

Great pictures guys...man I'm frothing at the mouth down here in Texas. All we have are those little pickerel. I consider myself a multi-species angler....but notherns are my favorite...that's for sure!

I would rather see the vertical hold then someone holding it by the eyes or letting it sag in the middle. Of course holding it by the gill plate (not the gill) and cradleing the entire body is the way to go.

Not preaching the vertical, but it could be worse.
