ManTrap lake

Anyone have any info on mantrap up by Park Rapids, I will be up there early June. Will this lake be on by then? This is a little "north" for me this early on. Also is there any area bait shops?

YES, i have caught some of my biggest fish in early to mid june. I love Killer Eels for this time of year. Stop by Northern Bait in Park Rapids and i will help you out the best i can. thanks Jonah

Got a question for you guys that fish Mantrap. I have to build a couple of globes for a guy who will be fishing Mantrap. What are your most productive topwater colors on that lake?

Black, and Black and orange. thats the only color top water i have every caught fish on and i have thrown pink, straight orange, chartuce (SP?), white, perch, you name it. Jonah

Hey was just at Mantrap this weekend for a day targeting Pike with Jig heads and 6in white and yellow grubs we did great on pike avg be 3-4 lbs biggest being 10. We also hooked into two muskies that were 40in and 38 in both fish were released right after pic. It was a all around great weekend besides the weather Nice Pike

I will be up in the area this coming weekend for a whole week, I was hoping to take my wife out and try to get her into some nice pike and hopefully a ski as well. We will be staying on Potato and I was thinking of either ManTrap or Elk, which do you think would be better? And what tactics do you think would be more productive, jig and minnow, inlines, crankbaits????

I only been to Mantrap once we were targeting bass and pike with 1/4 jig head and plastic worm, grubs, and minnows we caught plenty of nice pike 3-5lbs and about 5 pike in the 7-10lb we caught a couple of bass. Besides the weather it was great fishing we also landed a 40in and 38in musky i posted earlier.
