Dad shot his first spring bird ever at about 8 this morning. Heard him gobbling about 250 yards away, set up the decoy and called him in. He's killed birds in the fall but never did the spring thing much - usually too wrapped up in trout, softball, and walleyes....

19.5 pounds and a 9 inch beard...

Thanks guys. It was exciting but not as thrilling as shooting a deer with a bow. I can see how guys get hooked on turkey hunting though, its a challenge...

they sure are fun to shoot with a gun and some are just a pain in the (Contact Us Please) to call in. I've taken the challenge up a level and after taking one with the gun I'm totting the bow with me now. I've call in 2 toms with 2 clean misses. LOL
