Mmmmmmmmm. Morels. My wife and I developed a pistol of a grilled lake trout recipe that uses fresh morels sauteed in unsalted butter. Mmmmmmmm.

Problem is, there are DARN few places you can both find morels and plop a still-twitching lake trout fillet onto a grill.

We've settled for bringing frozen shrink-wrapped laker into morel country at our cabin. Oh, golly, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

Steve, what are the GPS coordinates of your cabin? I'll be in Ely tomorrow night and wouldn't mind a little trout and a few shrooms.

XT, sorry bud, our cabin is near Bemidji. That's why I gotta catch fresh laker here and bring it there for fresh morels.

Not here, Bill. The fires are quite a distance away, at the other end of the BWCAW, and the prevailing winds should keep them that way. I sympathize with the people who are victims of that fire up the Gunflint, though.
