I agree with Steve. The tree in the foreground really helps frame the shot. The second photo is just too bare for my tastes. BTW, do you make your own frames?

thanks for the comments. yes i used photoshop cs3 to make the frames around them. i personally prefer the top one as well, but some commented that they thought it was too busy.
