PIGS ON ICE!!!!

addicted

Recommended Posts

I own a house on LAKE GERVAIS in Little Canada. I am also a fellow Fisherman/Ice Fisherman.

I just got off the lake. I spent this afternoon picking up garbage that was left on the ice. Everything from boards, beer bottles, rags...etc. (even a roof from a fishouse??)

THOSE OF YOU, WHO DON'T TAKE THE TRASH WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE, GIVE US ALL A BAD NAME!!!&IF YOU SEE TRASH ON THE ICE PLEASE PICK IT UP!!!

IT'S AN EASY DO.....

EITHER LEAVE THE LAKE IN SAME/BETTER CONDITION THAN YOU FOUND IT!

THANK YOU!

Sometimes I take along a kitchen-sized white plastic garbage bag along. Gives me somewhere to throw the pop bottles and used propane cylinders. Seems like I always end up picking up someone else's trash too. Wish just one time I'd actually see someone leaving that trash behind.

AYE!
Everything goes out that comes on and if I am walking out (i.e. all this **** year) I try to pick up anything that stupid punkers leave out there.
If you had room to bring it out, you SURE as hell have room to take it back.
No sense to it!

Yesterday I fished Frontenac pond and, on the way out, decided to pick up after the pigs that left their trash behind when they removed their shacks. The spot where the shacks were had only an inch of ice, and while trying to free up the garbage, ended up going for a swim. Thanks to all the pantywastes out there for showing what you're truly made of. If I see anyone leaving trash on the ice I'm going to grant you the opportunity to see what that swim felt like.

Get this: I've pulled off many pieces of trash from Ottertail Lake, but the two most disturbing items were car batteries. Two different times I've pulled off batteries that people have used for the lighting set up, I'm sure. KEEP ON PICKING UP FOR THE NON SPORTSMEN! You know they won't.

What I'm wondering is, do these slobs do the
samething during open water fishing? What the hell are people thinking to leave car batteries on the ice!I'm also a avid icefisherman and try to pick up after others.Just remember to tread litely and take your **** back home!!!!!!!!!!

Being one of those Candy A**es that doesn't like to drive out on 12" of ice, most of my trips have been walkouts this year.
I make it a habit to pick up that which doesn't belong along the way. What gets me hot is the folks that figure since they didn't leave it, that some magic pick-up crew is going to come get it.
On several of my trips this season I picked up cans, bait containers, etc, etc not ten feet from guys sittin on their a**es lookin at me like I was the local bag guy.
To me, their just as bad as the Richard Cranium who left it in the first place!!!

richard cranium!!!! gotta love it!

some people just don't think and there seem to be a bunch that are not capable of thinking!

i met a guy who built a 6 man sleeper he was as proud as a peacock. brains, intelligence??? i doubt it... i always have 1/2 doz trash bags in my bucket 24/7. trash, northerns, whatever. i also always carry 1/2 a roll in a zip lock. the only thing worse than getting busted by mother natures call and having to freeze your buns off is going through that and not having paper...or a bag.

the peacock didn't have any of the above. i gave him the bags and even showed the jerk how to pick up his trash and use them. i sold him the 1/2 roll of paper for $10.00. in hind sight i should of let the moron use his hand,
maybe next time he would think.

I must say that I have not found as much garbage in the winter that I have snagged in the summer. Some people are just plain stupid. I've snagged tons of beer cans, hats, a fishing net, shirts, and even a hood ornament. Not to mention i've found shovels, traps, and car parts when the water gets low. I am sure most of these things came from the ice. I think we need to step up and stop these idiots before our lakes get un fishable. Something has to get done.

p.s. it took me a while to get Richard Cranium. That's Great!

This is amazing, We spent the weekend cleaning up the only public access area on a private lake here in Colorado that has some really good crappie fishing just so that nobody gets mad about the mess and shuts us off. The interesting part is that some of the people hid stuff under the rubble rocks that form the dam. Seems like if they have that much energy they could at least haul it out.

Alaskander, I'm ashamed to have to say it was on Basswood in the motorized area.
Our group is also motorized. Judging by the type of trash it looked like day trippers but we are all still responsible. It's just too bad we end up being "our brother cleaner". This year will be our 7th to that beautiful area, actually I'll get the privilege to go twice this year. As always I'll bring extra garbage bags!! -nunzio

I guess after reading all the posts I'll throw in my 2 cents worth. I agree that there are plenty of pigs using our areas. I work hard to instill in my son and daughter that even though we didn't cause the litter we should attempt to pick it up whenever we see it. "Leave footprints, take memories" (and whatever you brought in with you). I'm not shy to tell someone to pick up there garbage and take it with them either. I'm sure they call me all kinds of names but maybe my message will get through. All of you out there picking up for others get a big "atta boy" in my book.

You're going to run into the slobs no matter where you go. I do find it amazing though at many locations there isn't any receptables to dispose of one's trash. I agree if you bring it you should take it with you. I do think some well placed containers would help. I was shore fishing a few years ago at the local hot spot. The whole shore was littered with all kinds of dump. It was really bad. The CO was out there everynight checking for compliance. I asked him about the trash. He said a lot of people were pigs and they run into that all the time. I than pointed out there were no trash cans anywhere. I reminded him that it was his responsibility to keep the water and shore clean. The next Monday he had a crew out there. They cleaned it up and left numerous receptables for the trash. It helped keep the place clean the rest of the season. It made a major difference. By no means does this endorse such behavior, but some consideration is warranted!!

There is a dumpster at the north landing on Buffalo. One day while driving by there were 2 guys unloading a couch into it. I don't imagine that was what the dumpster was for, but then again better then along the road somewhere.
