lawdog
Where else can you talk local fishing, hunting, and dirt track racing all in addition to gaining invaluable technical advice for boats, snowmobiles, ATV's, landscaping and home improvement? And that's before we even get to football, dog training, cooking and looking at outdoor photography too!The amount of info available here is unreal and the people are great... TTfromBlaine
I'm with LAW DOG, plus you cant forget about the things for sale or things for free and the store sales helps us all. I've met and fished with at least 20-30 fellow F.M.'rs for several occasions and always look forward to meeting up with them again. and when I do business with any of the sponsors I know I'm dealing with people that have the product/knowledge and pointers that will help me enjoy my hobby even more, whether its on the ice or open water or any outdoor activity I choose.TOMMY T. Sifty
Mrs.Boilerman, There seems to be one thing I find when I come to FM for my fix. There are just a bunch of nice people here that like to share the love they have for everything outdoors. When a person post somthing here there always seem to be a number of people that post back with either some info. or some other way of helping. There are many people here that I have yet to get the chance to met but still call them friends. When you get the article done I would love a copy. Please send it to the E-mail listed below.I hope that you get the same pleasure about writing about FM as I do when I log on each day.Sifty
WCS
FM may have started out as a fishing forum, but it has become a total outdoor forum. There is so much great information on this site. I really enjoy the photo sharing forum. Photography has been a hobby for several years. The knowledge I have gained from that forum has taken my photography to another level. Did you know that the boat houses on Lake Vermilion may be declared a historical landmark? I do now after reading the Lake Vermilion Forum. I have learned about the threat Minnesota forests are facing from infestation of the Emerald Ash Borer. I heard about that in the Lawn and Garden Forum. I never thought twice about transporting firewood across the state until reading about this. I have found that one man's trash is another's treasure in the Free Things Forum. Found a great camera bag that another FMer was giving away. I find myself shopping on the For Sale Forum. Never bought anything myself, but have directed a friend to a used car and another to a boat. Probably one of my most anticipated events typically occurs each Tuesday. This is the day that I get to find out what is happening in Bugtussle. To find out about Bugtussle, you will need to visit the Birdwatching Forum and read Dotch's thread called "Fencelines". Of course, FM is also a great place to get the latest fishing reports. iffwalleyes
FM is just a really awesome group of people. I love fishing and hunting. I first stumbled across the site as a source of fishing reports for area lakes that I would fish. Well now I hardly even use it for that. I have met alot of great people through this site. Most everyone I have met I like and I think that comes from the same passion many of us have about the outdoors. The other thing the site had developed into is such a great resources about anything. If you want to know how to plumb or build something we have that kind of forum, lawn and garden we have that too. For me I am originally a MN boy that now lives in ND so it is a connection for me to my home state but then I am also able to try and share ND info. Mrs Boilerman
Whew! I can't believe what great reponses I got from everyone, and would like to thank you all. I spent a long time working on the article, wrote enough to annoy the sports editor because it is too long and tried to work in as many of your comments as I could, all while fielding phone calls from my husband, who is out fishing while I'm working...sigh. As soon as everything goes through the editing process I'll post a copy on here, but if anyone wants a paper copy I'll need an address, so you'll have to email me. My email is in my profile. Thanks again for your help, and good fishing to you all! I hope to meet some of you at the SW MN get-together at Shetek. Justine
