Anyone fish from a float tube? here are some pics and videos of my first outing this year

Me and Casey got out for some float tube action, and the panfish came to play! they were hungry, even hitting our floats! I got all my fish on Stoni and dragnmag plastics, casey was using jimbo hair jigs. we caught and released at least 50 in 2 hours, with a couple of bonus largemouth bass too. Casey lost a big fish. a good way to start the season!

Nice pics!!! I was out with my tube last week and caught a couple, it sure is nice to be out with no one else around. I can't wait for it to warm up again so I can get back out.

I just bought a Fish cat deluxe from Cabela's, first time using one of these things and I'm still looking forward to it when it warms up a little. I'm using a friends tube for my 13 year old son just to see how interested he'll be so we'll see after our first time out how he likes it. Now I just need to keep my eye out for those little lakes with limited access to get these tubes out on. Do you have any suggestions..? If you don't want to let everyone know, send me a e-mail on the tube access lakes only. Do you guys use swim fins, I noticed in one of those pictures it doesn't look like your using fins.?

Cool! once the weather warms up, lets do it! I might be up for some tubin next tuesday or thursday evening if it is halfway nice out. I know a place were we could really get good numbers of panfish...

Just started checking out the forums here and was excited to see some fellow float tubers.

A buddy and I have been floating the Mississippi here for the last couple of years. Smallies mostly, but we have picked up at least one of everything else that swims in there.

We both have Fish Cat deluxe tubes, and a couple extra fish cats for any kids that want to go along. I think its a perfect way to fish the river in the summer. cool.gif Not sure if I have the right gear to get out in any water this time of year, but I would like to try some of the smaller metro lakes that boats can't access. Looks like you guys had good day on the water.

I Got out for some after work crappie hunting with Jim (fishface) It started out slow, but it was relaxing and so warm out. not many crappies, there were thousands of tiny green sunnies that were like toothless pirahnas attacking anything they could cram in their mouths including my float constantly. we were greeted by a nice sunset, then thought about heading in, but then the slabs came out to play! larger plastics (2"+)were the key as anything too small would be gobbled up instantly by the tiny sunfish before the specks even saw it!
