Getting a new boat the day the lake opened up and it hasn't stopped raining since. It's getting to the point where a guy may have to get some goldfish put them in a 5-gallon bucket and fish for them from the boat in the garage. I could set the bucket outside and cast to it. And the worst part is knowing with all the rain we will be on overtime all week.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

I read your post and knew what you do for a living from reading it. I did the same thing for over 36 years. I have two boats in storage and the ice has been off all week. I won't go get the boats until it dries for a while and I have a drop down ice house to put in storage also. You one of the Spirit of Service people??? laugh.gif

Your boat situation is similar to when I bought a fishhouse this past ice season. I bought it the day we came out of the deep freeze, warmed up and all the lakes started to open back up. Really makes you wonder? Cold one were you from the Twin cities and then retire to SD? I know a guy that did that wondering if it might be you.

I was in SD most of the time. I transferred to Colorado for about 6 years and came back here to escape the crowds. What was your uncles name?

I retired in SD. I started with NWB in 1969 and retired a little over 36 years later. I bought my wheel house this winter and only got it on the ice twice. I've been doing a lot of the finishing work myself. The wiring for stereo, fans, 110V wiring and 12V wiring. Hopefully my son and I will get the FRP in the ceiling today and I can put my portable and other gear in it so it can go to storage. I have another wheel house that I will give to my nephews to get it out of my driveway. I'm very ready to get out in a boat as the ice has been gone for almost two weeks. I usually have thb boats ready to go before ice out. Good luck this summer. cool.gif

I really can't say for sure. The name is very familiar. I was active in the union in Aberdeen. Steward for 15 years, Vice Pres for 6 years and Pres for three. I did get to SF for some company meetings and some union functions once in a while. Like I say, it is hard to remember all the people that you meet in 36 years. He may remember me.
