Bass Tourney Stamp?

anyone hear aboot the idea for the stamp required to fish in bass tourneys? the article is in this week's outdoor news

I personally would be OK with this, as long as ALL the funds went to BASS habitat, conservation, stocking, and such. Not going into the general fund. I didn't see the article though.

I too have not read the article.. and my first impression, which is not well informed. Is I dont like the idea to "single" out bass tournament anglers, If they wanted to make a "Tournament" stamp.. as long as it wasn't some horrible price, I would be all for it. But just a Bass Tournament stamp... that I have a problem with!

I read this past week's ON and didn't see it. Whose idea is this?

On the surface, I'm against it. I might be OK with a "Bass Stamp" if it was deemed necessary to preserve bass habitat. But, we all know that would be quite ridiculous. Bass habitat in our lakes is in pretty good shape. So, we're all going to need to be licensed tournament anglers. What's next? I'm afraid of the answer to that.

Next would be the muskie stamp required to fish waters that have muskies. Soon to follow will be the walleye stamp and crappie stamp. I need a stamp to fish for salmon but they don't stock them. Money from a bass stamp would probably go into the general fund as well.
