Covers for window wells

I'm looking to put plexiglass covers on my window wells. My window wells are somewhere in the neighborhood of 60" x 36", so it'll take a pretty good sized cover. I've found them at a few places in Fargo, but the price of them is insane! Any suggestions for where I might find these for a decent price?

As much as I hate to say it, sometimes a road trip to Menards is worth it.

I am goin to look for some tonite in fargo at menards, I have though of regular plexiglass>> I know I have seen sheets at Macs up there but has anyone tried this?

I assume you're talking about coverg the egress window holes. At our place we have a sheet of plexi or lexan screwed to some 2x4's that are angle cut so they slope away from the house. They don't "seal" in any way, but they keep 99% of the rain, snow, leaves etc from falling into the holes. Also they are lightweight enough for my young girls to lift and push off for escapes.

Scoot have ya been to Macs up there?? i have not been there for a while but they had the plexi in pretty big sheets.

I went to menards last night and it seemed like they didnt want to have us use this for this kind of project or at least for my window...my window is 48" wide in the back and 36" inches in the front.. and it is 36" from the cement out.. all there sizes I saw would not work.. I even thought of splicing 2 together but that would even be hard to do with their sizes. I guess I will keep lookin!

I stopped by Macs this morning- they had plexiglass in big sheets. I was surprised at how expensive it was too! It was about $75 for a sheet of 4' x 8'. Maybe that's a decent price, but it sure seemed high to me. Regardless, it's a lot better than the prices I'd have to pay for one of the fancy pre-fabbed ones.

Scoot, Menards didnt seem to bad on price but they didnt have my size.. If yours is a different size I would say give them a call..OOps I just looked at your first post I see ya had yer size posterd, The # that strikes me was 40X72 for 60 bucks, I could be wrong but they did have some big sheets also.

O.K Scoot I found a sheet 36X72 at FF in Fergus Falls for like 27 bucks wow. I would maybe try the one up in Fargo to see what they got.
