my bro has a 00 700 mxz. been a great sled. hasnt used it this year.

the problem, it starts fine, idles fine, throttles up fine but in about 30-60sec of running it dies. it will start right back up on the next pull and do it all over again. no spit sputter and die, its like you hit the kill switch. on occation it will back fire upon restart. bad gas/dirty carbs? electrical? any ideas?

I would say the carbs are dirty. There's enough gas getting into your carbs to start the machine, but as soon as you try to accelerate, you burn the fuel off faster than it can pass through the carbs. An overall tune-up including new spark plugs should have the machine running like new again.

100% sure that you need to clean the pilot jets, then it will be good to go.

Be sure to check your fuel filter. They can gum up from having old gas in them. I've seen it lots on cars and on some sleds.
