For colors on topwaters I use Black. When I'm fishing stain water I like throwing topwater baits with alot of orange and extra noise.

Jerkbaits-

1) Hellhounds

2) Slammers Drop belly

3) Muskie treats (Custom made)

4) Perkas (Custom made)

Colors for jerkbaits you can't go wrong with Perch, cisco,

Shiner, and Crappie patterns.

Also on a clear water system with overcast skies throw Purple colored Jerk baits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bucktails-

There are so many good bucktails on the market. Here is what I like.

Stained Water

1) Black with Orange Colorado Blade

2) White with Black Colorado Blade

Clear Water

1) Black with Sliver Indiana blade

2) Firetiger with Nickle Indiana blade.

Here are my go-to lures:

1) LOWRider- any dark color

2) Pacemaker- any dark color

3) Single blade Radd Dog- black/orange blade

4) Single blade Radd Dog- White/silver blade

5) Shallow Invader- walleye pattern

6) Phantom- sucker

7) Jake- Tenn shad

8) Lil' Hustler jig/plastic- yellow, orange, white

9) Straight Believer- firetiger

10) small custom bucktail/little french blade- to burn

11) larger bucktail that I can bulge- dark color

I'd get by pretty easily through an entire year with just these baits. I gave several examples of color, but I'm not a big color guy. As you'll often hear, color only makes a difference during those times when color seems to matter.
