FISHOUSE tv/fan

im not sure about the sattelite but you can buy a 12 volt tv/vcr combo that has a cord that plugs into your car's cig lighter. either mount a cig lighter in your house or cut the end off of the cord and tie it in with your 12 volt lights. the same goes for the fan. i just put a small fan in my house that i got from the auto acessories section of a hardware store. just make sure that the all of your electronics can run on 12 volt so you can hook them up to your car or a car battery otherwise you will need a power inverter.

Talor, keep this in mind those tv's are meant to be hooked to a running vehicle, your bat can work for a while but soon the sound goes then the pic. as the charge goes away, the fan I use is from a computer or a copy machine, its 5"x5"x1" I mounted a clamp on it so I can put it anywhere, 12v and very quiet, I have one like you see in the school bus but they're very noisy even on low, The thing i found that works best is to put the fan near the floor pushing air up rather than at the ceiling pushing down.

I too would like to hear the explaination for why pushing hot air to the ceiling helps heat a house more evenly then pushing hot air from the ceiling down to the floor?

This seems to me that someone has altered the laws of physics.

Seems if you try to push down the cold air on the floor is hard to penetrate, or it feels more like cold air moving, when on the floor pushing up the warm current of air hits the ceiling and follows the walls to the floor thus keeping holes free of ice and a warmer lower airmass

I've read with home ceiling fans, you blow the air down during the summer and reverse the fan to suck it up off the floor during the winter. I guess it's true.

As for 12v accessories, keep in mind the polarity issues of the power for some equipment. (I see someone stated to just clip the cord and connect to a battery) The positive and negative must be connected correctly for items such as TVs, radios, depthfinders, etc. etc. Polarity for lights does not matter.

Boy, you guys got it rough! I've got little hooks I made out of coat hangers that we can hang our jackets/hats on in my portable and I think I'm Bob Vila! I'd love to have a permanent but it's hard to justify here in SE MN on the 'Miss. A Satellite!?! Are you serious? Just out of curiousity, how much time do you guys average in your icehouses? Please understand that I'm just harassing you w/good humor and if there's any sarcasm, it's out of envy! One other question, when you refer to 12 volt, do you mean a deep cell (boat battery) or are you talking about the 12 volt rechargables that you would use for a Vex?

I too am asking the same question as al jr.
I would also like to know how it installs, and any other info you know about it. It sounds very useful.
Thanks, and safe fishin...

As for the amount of time i spend in the hotel on ice, after school(17 yrs old), and on weekends.

it is called AIR 403 its made by company in flagstaff arizona. i have 3 deep cycle boat batteries, all hooked in series. the charger weight is 13 lbs, 12 volt, it starts charging at 7 mph, it puts out 400 watts in a 28 mph wind. it has a automatic regulation not to over charge the batteries. i mounted it on a 10 foot mast on the wall of the house, run the wires in to an amp meter on to the batteries . they are always full. the cost i think was around $450 if you want to know more i can e-mail the address to you. it does cost any more for the best, it just a little longer to pay for it!!!!

Well I have a generator to run my stuff. I have a dish color tv and 110 fans in the house. This is the best way to do it cause you dont need to burn the baterys I only use my batterys for my 12 volt lights when the gen. isnt on. I also have 110 lights in there.
