4 foot? What kind of pup are you getting? I did my own 5 years ago when we moved in here for less than a grand. As I recall it was about that same length. I did 5 foot though as "pups" can jump quite high. If you go to Menards you can figure the cost of materials on their little computer kiosk in about 3 minutes. Have a good one and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

If you are having it done a couple of things you should ask about. Corners and gate posts should be concrete in but you can save money if you just have your line post driven in, if you are paying for all posts to be concreted in check to make sure they are. Request heavy gage fencing, actually the fabric is the cheapest part of the job. Going to a 5 foot fence will increase your cost quite a bit as all posts will need to be bigger. 4 foot fence will work, If your dog wants to get out it will, I have had dogs climb 6' fence like they were nothing. For a 4ft high fence ballpark figure would be around 12 dollars a foot you can do it yourself for 8.oo a foot. Not a hard job at all.

I cemented all my posts in. Let me tell ya, if you are outside and a tornado comes just grab onto one of them and I gaurentee you are not going anywhere! May have been a bit of overkill but it was my first fence! Yeah, 4 foot is probably enuff but my neighbors is 5 foot as well so that had a lot to do with it also. His fence is actually one complete side of my yard! Glad it was there, saved me a ton of money! laugh.gif Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Did you pay him anything?

I'm mostly a do-it-yourself guy, but this is one I let the pros do. Yes, it was a bit more, but it was done very quick, they cleaned up after themselves and didn't destroy the yard in the process.

All posts concreted. 4ft high black vinyl coated. Not sure of the footage, (1/3 acre lot). I want to say the price was approx $2500.

What's nice is that I installed a doggie door insert in my patio slider (walkout basement) and the pooch goes in and out as he pleases.

I just had one installed last year, 5 foot black coated with two gates and a 8 foot access in the very back of the yard. I paid cash and got it for 2400 bucks. They were done with my fence in about 7 hours start to finish and it looks great.
