I am having the same exact problem with my MinKota AT. Have you figured out the cause yet? I feel it may be my boats wiring shorting out somewhere, so Im going to wire it straight to the battery tonight and see if that fixes it. If so I'll have to run new wire in the boat. Hopefully its not the trolling motor itsself that is broken.

Well I figured it out. There was a 40 amp circuit breaker in the line that I didn't see. I took it out and installed a 50 amp as Minnkota suggested. Works great now:-) Look out wind and waves. Here I come:-)
