Mono Backing on Reels

BigWadeS

Question

I have read a lot about putting a mono backing on your reel and then a shorter amount of flourocarbon/ppro with that. What is the best way to attach the two each other? I have no idea how to or what the best knot should be for this...

Thanks,

A uni-knot is pretty strong and easy to learn to tie. a drawing will show better but; spiral the to lines together 8-10 times maybe less not sure whats stronger. then split the 2 lines in the middle, and bring boths tags through the hole it made when you split lines. you'll figure something out. test 'er out

Agree with the above posts. I use a surgeons knot because it is easier for me to tie. Never have had any problems when I tie it correctly and that is relativly easy.

If you have trouble with tieing the Uni, give the Surgeons a try.

Again, do a google. There are several very good sites which will have pix to walk you through many kinds of knots.
